Making The Most Of Your Small Bathroom!

Here is a tired and dangerous bathroom well over 40 years old. The room measured only 2.4 m long by 1.8m wide and consisted of asbestos walls and ceiling sheets. It had what we call a water area sheeting (Lamipanel, Aqua Board), an old fibreglass shower tray with a glass screen and a vanity made from the old sheeting that resembles a breakfast cereal. This required a full renovation that revealed rotten timber floor members from years of water leaking through the walls and floor.

Once everything was pulled out, we were able to replace the old copper water pipes with new, replace all of the damaged timber and fit all wall noggings to accommodate any towel rails, toilet roll holders and alike., Using the 45 degree angle shower hob system gave that extra room which makes a huge difference in a small bathroom area. Anyone attempting to do their own renovations need to take extreme care where asbestos is involved. As a registered holder of an asbestos removal license, we were able to remove it and dispose of it properly.
